Easter Time!

:happy spring to all:

I have been very busy at my house.
I made this cute easter sign for our mantel.

so fun, and very easy to do!

I also made these cute bags for the kids' easter hunt this sunday

I didn't even have to go to the store.
I had all these supplies around the house.

:A STEP-BY-STEP TUTORIAL:
paper bag easter sack

ernie wanted to help:
- supplies -
paper bags (white or brown)
ribbon
hole punch
computer with art program
printer
before starting, get your bag ready in the printer.
your printer should show you what direction to place your bag (paper).
do this now, so that you don't forget (I know I did)
First: -open your art program. (I am using photoshop CS3)
-click on FILE and then NEW
-enter the dimensions of the bag (mine weren't right on)
-then click OK

Second: -create your art on your virtual bag

Third: -when ready, go to FILE and then PRINT or PRINT SETUP
(depending on your program)
-in the print window, you usually find a PAGE SETUP. click it.

Fourth: -while in page setup, click on the FEATURES tab.

Fifth: -in the features tab, find the RESIZING OPTIONS.
-click on the arrow for the drop box and select CUSTOM.

Sixth: -a window will appear where you can create your own custom paper size.
-change the measurements to the size you made your art file.
(I changed mine to width: 5.25 and length: 10)
-name your custom paper (I did paper bag).
-click save.
Now, the bad thing about this is
you have to close all windows, including the print window.
-reopen the print window (FILE - PRINT).
and follow the instructions from the third, fourth & fifth steps.
EXCEPT on the fifth step, on the drop box select MORE.
-at the bottom of the "more" list, you'll find your custom paper.
-select your paper name.
-click OK, on all windows.
:your bag should be printing:
and you should applaud yourself for a job well done!
**if you'd like, you could hand-print on the bags instead
-OR-
not put anything on them at all.

Seventh: - with your freshly printed bag, fold over the edge as a guide line.
- now fold the rim of the bag over.

Eighth: - punch holes on both sides of the bag.

Ninth: - take your ribbon and cut a size that suits you.
-tie a loose knot in one end.

Tenth: - pass the ribbon through each punched out hole.
(see below photo as well)

Eleventh: - once the ribbon is through the last hole, tie another loose knot.
:your bag is finished:
this bag would also be great to use as lanterns! you could use mini paper sacks and put those electric tea lights in them! how cute would that be?!

I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday!
